In November 2020, experts of the FGBI “Federal Center for Animal Health”, Reference Laboratory for Cattle Diseases subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor, took part in Interlaboratory Comparative Tests (ICT) organized by ASTRE, the OIE and FAO European Reference Laboratory for CBPP, CIRAD (Montpellier, France). The ICT to detect antibodies to CBPP included testing of 24 cattle blood serum samples with ELISA.

A total of 14 laboratories (Africa, EU, Middle East) took part in the ICT organized by the EU, of which 3 laboratories failed to fulfill the task, 3 laboratories passed it with minor non-compliances and only 8 laboratories, including the Reference Laboratory for Cattle Diseases of the FGBI “ARRIAH” succeeded in it. In January 2021, the laboratory received an official confirmation (certificate) of successful completion of the ICT for CBPP diagnosis with ELISA.

The ICT results once again confirmed the expertise and high qualification of the laboratory staff in highly dangerous cattle disease diagnosis. The ICT results were included in the annual OIE dossier on recognition of the CBPP free status of the Russian Federation.
