In March 2017 OOO “Vladimir Test”, an authorized body for integrated management system certification, inspected the quality system operating at the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” and its branch in the Republic of Crimea subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor for its compliance with GOST P ISO 9001-2015 (ISO 9001:2015) in order to confirm that the quality assurance activities performed by the institution comply with the requirements of the abovementioned standard.

The Meeting of the Concluding Collegium of the Rosselkhoznadzor under the chairmanship of Sergey Dankvert, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, took place at the FGBI “All-Russian Plant Quarantine Centre” on March 31, 2017. Results of the activities performed by the Service and its subordinate institutions in 2016 as well as the objectives for 2017 were discussed during the meeting.

From 1 to 28 February 2017 the World Organization for Animal Health was notified about 865 outbreaks of highly dangerous animal diseases.

During the reporting period the following outbreaks were reported in Russia: African swine fever in agricultural animals - 4 in the Saratov Oblast, and in wild boars – 1 in the Orel Oblast and 1 in the Ivanovo Oblast. Highly pathogenic avian influenza was reported in the Kaliningrad Oblast (1).

On January 26, 2017, experts of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” attended the 22^nd International Exhibition MVC: GRAIN-COMPOUND FEED-ANIMAL HEALTH-2017. The Exhibition was held in Moscow, Hall 75, National Economy Achievement Exhibition (VDNKh). Over 400 companies and institutions from 26 European, Asian and North American countries as well as from 44 RF regions participated in the exhibition.

Negotiations between Yevgeny Gromyko, RF Deputy Minister for Agriculture, and Purev Sergelen, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, took place within the framework of the International Green Week Berlin 2017, the 82nd international exhibition for the food, agriculture, and gardening industry on January 20, 2017. Dmitry Lozovoy took part in the event representing the Russian delegation on behalf of the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

On March 21, 2017, the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” was visited by the delegates of the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority, Republic of Singapore. The visit was organized within the framework of the working visit of the Singapore delegation to the Russian Federation aimed at review and assessment of the Russian system for ensuring safety of animal food products (poultry meat and pork and ready-to-eat products thereof) and assessment of risks at such products’ importation to the Singapore market.
