Inactivated emulsion associated vaccine against pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and porcine polyserositis

The vaccine is a slightly viscous emulsion of white colour. During storage creaming can be observed. The emulsion becomes homogeneous again after thorough bottle shaking.

The vaccine is used for prevention of pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and porcine polyserositis in pigs on affected farms caused by bacteria Pasteurella multocida (serogroups А and D), Salmonella choleraesuis, Salmonella typhimirium and Haemophilus parasuis.

Route of administration

20-25-day old piglets shall be vaccinated twice (dose is 0.5 cm3 per administration, only submuscularly into a neck, the interval between the first and the second injection shall be 20 – 30 days). Pregnant sows, who have not been vaccinated with this vaccine before, shall be vaccinated twice, 50- 60 and 25-30 days before farrowing. In future such sows shall be vaccinated once, 25 – 30 days before farrowing. They shall be vaccinated only intramuscularly behind the ear (dose 1cm3 per administration). Vaccination of sows does not exclude following vaccination of piglets. After vaccination some pigs may demonstrate short rise in temperature (0.5 – 1.0 oC) and slight depression lasting for 1-2 days after administration.

Vaccinated animals develop strong immunity against pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and porcine polyserositis. The vaccine is innocuous and low reactogenic. Strong immunity in vaccinated animals develops in 20-25 days post second administration and lasts for 6 months. Vaccinated sows transmit specific immune factors via colostrum to their piglets, thus, protecting them from pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and porcine polyserositis for a month after birth.

Storage conditions

The vaccine shall be stored in a dry, dark place at the temperature of 2–8°C. Vaccine shelf life is 12 months from the production date.
