Live dry vaccine against Newcastle disease from “La-Sota” strain

Description

Vaccine is indicated for Newcastle disease prevention in birds by creating a strong specific immunity. Dosage form – a freeze-dried mass for suspension preparation. The vaccine is a dry homogenous porous mass of a light yellow or light brown color which easily dissolves in water without formation of flakes and sediment.

Indication

The vaccine is intended for Newcastle disease prevention on breeding and commercial farms of different types. Only clinically healthy birds of any age are subject to vaccination. Terms of vaccination are determined based on the level of maternal antibodies in 1–20-day-old chickens after testing of at least 25 blood serum samples from birds in the same poultry house using HI test. Vaccination is carried out if NDV antibody titers determined by HI test are lower than 1:8 in 20% or more of the samples. If NDV antibody titers determined by HI test are higher than 1:8 in 80% or more of the samples, the birds should be retested every 3–5 days. Vaccination is carried out after the immunity level decreases to 80%. Vaccine is administered intranasally (intraocularly), enterally (with drinking water), by coarse spray (spray method) or aerosol. Vaccination is considered successful if in 80% or more of the samples anti-hemagglutinin titer is at least 1:8. If the immunity level is less than 80% the birds shall be revaccinated.

Route of administration

Vaccine is administered intranasally (intraocularly), enterally (with drinking water), by coarse spray (spray method) or aerosol. Vaccination is considered successful if in 80% or more of the samples anti-hemagglutinin titer is at least 1:8. If the immunity level is less than 80% the birds shall be revaccinated.

Contraindications

There are no contraindications.

Immunity

Vaccine induces immunity to NDV in birds 6–8 days after single vaccination and lasts for at least 1.5–2 months. One intranasal (intraocular) vaccine dose contains at least 106.7 EID50 of NDV (“La-Sota” strain). The vaccine is innocuous and has no therapeutical value.

Storage conditions

Manufacturer, customer or distributor should store vaccines in the original package (shipping package) in dark dry place, at temperature from 2 to 8°C. The vaccine shelf-life is 12 months after the production date.
