FMD emulsion mono-and polyvalent vaccine for cattle, small ruminants and pigs (from virus grown in BHK-21 cell culture) (ARRIAH-VAC)

Description

The vaccine is a compound water-oil-water emulsion of white or white-pinkish colour. a slight separation of oillayer in the upper part of the bottle is observed at storage. The vaccine becomes homogenous at shaking.

Use

The vaccine is intended for preventive immunization of cattle, small ruminants, camels, deer, yaks and pigs against FMD caused by virus types A, O, C ¬,

Asia-1, SAT-1, SAT-2, SAT-3.

Vaccination route

Before use the bottle with the vaccine is thoroughly shaken till a homogeneous emulsion is formed. The vaccine is administered to pig intramuscularly in the area of the upper third of the neck, cattle, buffaloes, camels, yaks, ruminants - intramuscularly in the area of the middle third of the neck or of the croup in the doses indicated on the bottle label observing aseptic and antiseptic rules. Animals previously not vaccinated against FMD are immunized at one-month-old age followed by revaccination in 6 months. Young animals (calves, piglets, lambs etc.) born from vaccinated dams are immunized: piglets, lambs – from 1.5-month-old age, calves – from 4-month-old age, once, with revaccination every 6 months. Immunization in affected settlements should cover all susceptible animals from one month old age with a 5-15-day interval followed be revaccination in 6 months.

Contraindications

None. Meat, milk and other products derived from healthy vaccinated animals can be used without any restrictions.

Immunity

The parenterally administered vaccine induces FMD immunity which persists for 12 months. The specific protection is established in primarily immunized animals in 21 days and lasts for at least 6 months.

Type of packing

The vaccine is filled in glass or plastic bottles at a volume of 50, 100,200, and 210 cm3 stoppered with rubber stoppers, sealed with aluminium caps and labeled.

Storage conditions

The vaccine shelf-life is 18 months from the date of production.
